I would like to thank all staff for their patience and humour when carrying out a diabetic eye screen on Paul. You made the experience for us both very pleasant. Truly professional, caring and compassionate. Highly recommend.

I first went to Millican opticians a couple of years ago and went at the end of May 2021 for a checkup. I support local businesses wherever possible. My optician was very professional and I was very happy with her and the way the test was conducted even with the fogging problems mask wearing presents. I needed reading glasses and the staff were extremely helpful in advising me in selecting suitable frames. A few days later I went to collect the glasses after receiving a call and making an appointment. The glasses were in a lovely hard shell case and after trying them on it was found that they had been made up wrongly. Glasses went back to get lab. I had no call so several days later I rang to be told that there was a delay at the lab and I should have been advised. I waited a few more days still no call. I rang again, they would find out and call me back. My glasses would be sent out that evening and I would receive a call next day. Yippee call received next day and I went to collect the glasses. They were handed to me, I was asked if I could read the appropriate section of text which I could and that was it, no check to see if they fitted correctly over the bridge of my nose or over my ears, and I was given a flimsy plastic case to take them away. The staff member was really sharp with me and not at all friendly and there was no apology for the delay. I felt like I was a bit of a nuisance really. So I will be looking for another local optician in future.Customer service counts even if I am not buying the most expensive designer frames. Communication is important and a phone call and an apology would have nice.
