Room was okay. Stairs up to the rooms were steep and not well lit, which made it particularly awkward when descending. No hooks to hang coats on. Curtains coming down in the middle so didn't close properly. Loo roll holder was rusty. Bath mat very smelly, definitely needed a good hot wash, we were only there two nights so obviously wasn't clean when we arrived. Wardrobe was short and didn't accommodate full length clothes. Owner was nice when we arrived (although only allowing check in after 4pm) but quite abrupt as we left. Although we left 20 minutes after 11.00am considering that the room wasn't available until after 4.00pm the rude attitude seemed unnecessary.

Ive booked a room via Booking and then on the arrival date I got a call from the lady to say this is a guest house and only quiet clients are allowed to stay and Ive replied we are quiet! Then they started her MI6 style investigation by asking whats my UK address registered in Booking and as an international student who came to the uk for Bachelor and Master I said Im not sure which one is registered on Booking then she said Im worried now how can I accept you as a guest and you cant verify your UK address and you must provide an ID with a UK address upon arrival! I told her an a traveller I dont have a UK address and you shouldnt ask for that because its not stated on your hotel page! She said big hotel chains they dont ask for that but us as a guest house we ask for it! Then I called Booking.com and they confirmed this is not the first case they had about this host, and they didnt state guest must have a UK address ID to book room. Short story .. Lady we dont care if u prefer aliens only at ur hotel .. just state ur conditions and remove it from Booking and stop being worried!
