Tappers Gin Distillery

We booked in a tappers gin tasting and tour and what a great night it was! Lovely staff, really insightful and fun anecdotes by the creator along with 4 gins, and a tasting chacuterie board. We ended up buying a discounted large bottle of darkside but I'm anticipating us purchasing a few other ones soon enough. I highly recommend the tasting experience!

I bought a 'Gin Making' experience for my Wife's 'special' Birthday, and went along for the ride. Wow, what an absolutely brilliant evening. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome, we were given a full brief of what we were going to do, but done in such a way that made you feel that you were going to achieve what you wanted. Steve (Owner & Head Distiller), his Mum Sue, and young lady (really sorry cant remember her name, but was also excellent), made you feel very welcome, and though he clearly has a vast knowledge in the art of Gin making, conveyed this to us in such a friendly, enthusiastic and humble way, that you were at ease, and fascinated, from the get go. The whole 'making' process was explained at every step, how, what, why, in a way that all made perfect sense. The finished article, that we tasted before we left, gave you that 'I made that !' (oh and my wife's Gin was really, really lovely). The fact that 'your' recipe is kept, so you can have more bottles made is such a great idea, and one that could be passed down the Generations...brilliant. It was an incredible experience, enhanced by the Team that clearly love what they do, and are in it to deliver an incredibly high quality, artisan product, above anything else. We were made to feel very special, and cannot recommend Steve & his Team highly enough.

Me and 8 friends booked for the gin and jazz night. The gin was great and the live music was really fun. Ive knocked off 2 stars because of the front of house. She was very rude and did not make us feel welcome at all. It really seemed like she didnt want us there. We booked separately for a friends birthday and she seemed annoyed that we booked separately but wanted to sit together (there was plenty of tables and room for us) And there were other comments throughout the night from her which just made it awkward. Bit disappointing that we spent around 300 there yet were made to feel like this. Our waitress was absolutely lovely and really saved the experience. We would have came again but after this I think well be looking elsewhere.

Wonderful product created by and unrivaled team that strive for perfection in their gins and every working practice and piece of equipment they adopt. The team ethos and comaraderie is infectious. A very entertaining, interesting and tasty place to visit. The Wirral is lucky to have them.
