16A Architects

We recently commissioned 16A Architecture to help us renovate our mid-century home. Joel and James immediately understood what we were looking to achieve. They have been creative, intuitive and fun to work with. The resulting plans far exceed what we were initially hoping for, a balance between remaining sympathetic to the original design whilst creating a home for modern living. We have enjoyed the whole process and would happily recommend 16As services to anyone looking for an architect.

I have worked recently with James and Joel to develop plans for the conversion of an existing residential block to 6 new units. Having previously faced challenges from planning, James helped create a scheme that alleviated all noted concerns and plans were quickly approved. I felt a genuine sense that my project was being thought about and worked on in a timely manner with regular updates and feedback calls. Following on from this building regulation drawings have been generated which are extensive, well thought out and professional. I have two new projects for 2023 and am very much looking forward to working with James and Joel on both.

Absolutely awful experience. After talking to the team for hours, they didn't listen to anything we said, and came up with the most hideous house design myself, and everyone I've shown, has ever seen, with no regards to bidget or our style. Total waste of time and money. Would not recommend

Not happy at all. I expressed we were not happy and asked for the complaints procedure. The response was: Thats cool, I look forward to the ARB getting in touch! Ill get all the details over to you today, Have a great day To say that's cool. And Have a great day with a thumbs up sign. This is what a professional architectural company has told us when asking how to complain. I am sure very few people reading this review would treat their customers that way or expect to be told that if they asked for how to complain. In subsequent calls and emails i have been threatened by them saying: "We will not hesitate to take action in due course" Have only lead me to worry. It is my opinion, it would be easier to get a professional service without this level of difficulty elsewhere. I have had to modify my review as the owner of the company has sent me several messages stating he has sought legal action against me (a customer that paid nearly 2000) because I left a review. Please make up your own minds and also read the other reviews people have left which are certainly more favorable. Hopefully you will have a better experience than we have, certainly a less costly one. Be sure to read the contract in ful. We had failed to realise they charge for fuel costs should you say would want to go elsewhere. Thank you for reading.
