What an amazing family weekend we have had. We booked The Mill and The Byre with the connecting door open. Both absolutely beautiful properties, immaculate with everything you need. We had a special Halloween party for the children priceless memories made. Can't wait for next year..same ace same time. Thank you Sue and Paul for the wonderful welcome

This is a place of great fabulousness!! It has new owners who are extremely welcoming and have made every effort to ensure a comfortable, clean and happy stay. It is excellent value for money. We stayed in The Granary that is exceptionally well equipped for all self catering needs. The interior has a modern farmhouse feel and the hosts provided most everything that would enable a comfortable holiday. There is an abundance of space, so our group of 2 families and little dog were able to spend time together in the very spacious communal areas, but also relax alone in little quiet nooks or the large bedrooms. We visited in the middle of winter and the house was toasty warm even without a fire in the lounge. There is no shortage of things to do - there is a brilliant heated indoor pool and games room that is shared by all the cottages. There is a large lawn area that is good for ball games and the kids enjoyed feeding our vegetable peelings to the farm animals. It is half an hour drive to York in the South, and the same to 2 National Parks, one East, one West. There are a few historical abbeys 15 minutes away and several historical points of interest scattered in close proximity to Birdforth.
