We had a Landrover Discovery Sport 2019 which had travelled 26,0009 miles when we heard a slight sound of knocking when turning the steering wheel right. We heard this noise Christmas night and contacted Marriotts who diagnosed it on 5 January 2023 as being an issue with the driveshaft which we agreed to have replaced. However, after waiting 2 months and the sound getting worse Marriotts were unable to obtain a replacement so suggested we had our driveshaft reconditioned which we paid 850.00. Our car was at the garage for week whilst our driveshaft was taken and transported to Driveshaft UK in Willenhall. I contacted the garage on Friday who advised me our car was ready to collect however, they advised me there was still a slight knocking on it. When I arrived at the garage I requested them to look into the knocking noise further as this was the original issue it had come into the garage for. Our car was put back up on the ramps for further checks. I was at the garage until 18.30 that evening which involved the mechanic sitting with me who had solely worked on Landrovers for 17 years and did not know what the issue was but assured me our car was safe to drive. When I got back in our car it was the same sound as when I took to Marriotts originally and nothing had been resolved other we had paid 850.00 for nothing!!! From March until a week ago the knocking noise became even worse so we have now decided to purchase another vehicle for reliability as we did not trust our vehicle any longer. We do not believe we should have been put in a position we have as we are 850.00 out of pocket the same issue as it was originally taken in for. As we believed the fault was going to be rectified when we first took it into Marriotts we also asked them to MOT and service it so the total cost of the bill was 1346.00 for a vehicle we have to part exchange. Ask yourselves if you would be happy to pay this cost with the given circumstances !!! Service: Transmission
