Id been looking for someone to help restore my GTV V6 and Id heard good things about Neil and watched a few of his YouTube videos. Working with a new mechanic one to one for the first time can be tricky trying to balance the work and costs and the immediate needs to get the car rolling against the smaller manageable jobs I can do myself. In this case it worked really well. I enjoyed Neils YouTube review of my car which highlighted all the major issues which helped me to decide on continuing with the restoration. Neil had the car for 3-months, no pressure on my part, kicking off with a cambelt change and a few essentials so the car ran and then it was off to the bodyshop for a full respray plus the addition of the full Cup Kit. Id already removed the seating and gave it a proper clean and decided on a change of carpet colour from the rather grey yellow/gold to black. Neil refitted the interior before the car went off for a MOT which highlighted the last few jobs to get the car roadworthy; plus the addition of a Wizard exhaust and sports filter. Ive restored a few cars in the past and I sort of knew what I wanted to achieve but at the same time happy go with the flow. Ultimately I didnt want to spend a fortune and knew I was able to source parts and fittings that I could find and fit later myself in my own time. The cars 85% done, a few bits and pieces to source, a little refinement, but as it stands it still looks fantastic and the drive home to Bristol from Walsall was bliss; really happy!
