I was at Bede sixth form in the early 80s It was then on Hale road Billingham the outside was a flat roofed concrete sort of prefab built building, but I loved the homeliness inside. Mr Wayne was my form tutor and also took me for English and English literature. I wanted to stay and do my A level Art However I was made to leave and do a Youth Opportunity Programme due to financial difficulties. The building today is not on Hale road which is now part of a playing field. Is a huge modern glass building full of light with all the mod cons, Gym, climbing wall, computer rooms etc. It still has a community feel about it with various groups LGBT, Football, Hockey, bands etc.
