Five Sunnyside Holiday Cottage

We had a fantastic holiday staying at 5 Sunnyside, a lovely cosy cottage that had everything we needed. Great location for the Tarka Trail, Appledore, Clovelly to little shops in Bideford to name but a few of our trips. We had a great family time staying for few days at Five Sunnyside in late Aug. This beautiful period cottage is right next to Tarka trail and Chris & Alice have done a tremendous job of tastefully decorating the cottage to a striking standard with every bit of space being used effectively and facilities well thought-out. Chris & Alice are fantastic hosts with abundant local knowledge and also keen cyclists. The cottage itself is quirky in some ways, modularly extended over decades and apparently was the house of the local Mayor :) Thank you Chris & Alice for your wonderful hospitality and we hope to be back again sometime soon.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sunnyside cottage. It's cosy and peaceful in a great location. Has a nice warm power shower I must say! It was perfect for taking our dog, very dog friendly. Chris & Alice recommended some lovely places to eat, that we too would recommend! We enjoyed a beautiful steak at the Royal Hotel and huge pizzas/pasta at the Italian Belluno. We visited Appleton for some crabbing. Enjoyed a bike ride along the Tarka Trail into Instow. The beach was great fun for our dog, he loved his dip in the sea. It's also a 20min drive into Barnstable, good for shopping. We would definitely recommend. Thank you Chris & Alice. Also to say great communication on everything from Chris & Alice who made us feel very welcome.

We stayed at this lovely quirky and cosy cottage with our children and had a fabulous time! Firstly, Alice and Chris made such an effort to accommodate us throughout our stay. They stocked up necessities for us as we arrived late at night and were always available to answer any questions and give advice on where to go, what to do etc... Absolutely fantastic hosts! The cottage was so clean and the beds were really comfortable too. We loved playing games in the 'Crow's Nest' and eating fish & chips in the garden, as well as enjoying herbal tea from the fresh herbs! We had a great cycle to Instow along the Tarka trail which was super safe for our small children and the bike hire minutes from the cottage, and friendly staff there too. Instow is a lovely place to stop off for a drink at the pub and ice cream at the cafe! Swimming in Saunton Sands was amazing, crabbing in the beautiful fishing village of Appledore and many more places we visited! We had such a great holiday, thank you Alice and Chris for helping us create such wonderful memories and a fantastic holiday! We will be back..........!

Hi myself and my 2 older siblings had a week here in July We was met by Chris and his lovely wife and introduced themselves and showed us around their lovely cottage We had a lovely week here and nothing was of any trouble they even offered to get us some.shopping on arrival as we was going to be late but it was not needed but was a lovely touch Chris gave us lots of information about placed to visit and places to eat Also with the tarka trail being right on the doorstep was a bonus too . There is a cycle hire place within walking distance if you don't want to bring your bike. The cottage has a shed to put your bikes in too and everything you need to make your holiday stress free Lots of space in the cottage and the beds were amazing so comfy after a long days of cycling or walking x loved it xx can't wait to return xx Thanks Alice for the wine too xx
