As a Sales Leader I am often asked how you take a Sales Management team from good to great. Well in my experience it is about 4 key focus areas: Behaviour, Attitude, Ability, Knowledge. With the right behaviour you can influence peoples attitudes, you can then teach them the knowledge to give them the appropriate ability. So in 2015 with a Sales Management team that had delivered good results I worked with Robert Greenwood to develop a bespoke training module that would help take this Sales Management team from Good to Great I worked closely with Robert to ensure that the course content and duration would be achievable whilst maximising outdoor activities through experiential learning. The course was designed to improve the behaviours of the team by making each team member totally accountable for their own actions and the performance of the wider business. So 2 years on what does it look like for this team of Sales Management Team: We have completed a restructure with ease, sales have improved by 39% over the 24 month period generating circa 6m per year additional revenue. The team is more proactive and I have seen significant improvements in interdepartmental relationships. Robert has exceptional powers of observation and awareness. He has used these skills to develop a unique ability to be able to know just when to intervene and take control of a situation and when to melt into the background and let the team decide a direction. This enabled people and teams to grow in confidence and achieve results they never though possible. As a result Robert can get teams to perform at a completely new level. Robert can perform at all levels but he excels at Director and Board levels position where he is unique.
