In some desperation, I contacted Bespoke Wood Floor Restoration. Tom resanded, gap filled, stained and waxed our solid oak floors both upstairs, downstairs and on the stairs themselves. He has done a superb job, rectifying my poor, bodged DIY efforts and producing beautiful floors. The care and craftmanship that he employed has resulted in something special that makes both my wife and I smile. (the second picture does not fully reflect the end result as it was before the final coat of hard wax was applied)
Unlike my DIY efforts using rented machines that filled the house with dust (much to my wife's annoyance), his sanding machines did the job with very little dust being spread around the house.
His prices are more than reasonable and he was punctual, polite and did the whole job in the promised time, even working the weekend in order to meet the deadline.
I would strong recommend Tom and Bespoke Wood Floor Restoration and will be using him for the next phase of our house project when that is done.

Tom has created a wood floor of intricate beauty in my bedroom. He initially removed the carpet and ply wood, exposing the original floorboards of pitch pine. He then took up floorboards that were not salvageable and laid down more boards of pitch pine that he sourced himself. He put wood fillets in to close up the larger gaps and used resin mixed with sawdust to patch up some holes. Tom then sanded and polished the floor to perfection. He has a range of different oils and laid down samples so I could choose the right one. The final result is stunning; rich in colour and bringing out depth and all sorts of previously hidden details.

Additional information:
Tom sanded and polished the Elm wood floor using the best professional tools and machines such as the Bona Flexisand machine. Moreover, he used a small orbital sander for the hard to reach areas, this was followed by thorough hovering. The next step was for Tom to stain different coloured woods to match the rest, this involved carefully mixing different stains to get the appropriate colour. Finally, Tom applied two coats of oil to give a beautiful hard wearing finish. The process took 3-4 days with gaps for different chemicals to dry.
Tom inspired me with trust, he seemed mindful through out the process. I dont usually write reviews, but I feel this is needed as we mostly use google to find different tradesmen and I am particularly pleased with the finish as well as his ethics and attitude.
