Bure Farm

Unfortunately my review starts negative (it gets better) as this was the feeling I had on first impressions. We were greeted and shown to our table by a waitress, she was polite but very unhelpful, my son (who is a 3.5 year old) is allergic to dairy, egg and nuts (which is a nightmare). When trying to explain to her that the website groups meals, so he obviously cannot have the sausage and mash, but perhaps he could have the sausage (with chips and beans) depending on ingredients the response I kept receiving was "all allergy information is on our website". Whilst I appreciate that this is the safeguard company response, it is extremely limiting for my son (and means almost impossible to eat out), most places we have eaten at before offer to check the sausage packaging (or let me). After feeling a tad frustrated with the conversation I gave up and then spoke to another lovely member of staff who did what most places do and went out of her way to check the packaging and take photos of the ingredients for me to check. I find trusting establishments hard and stressful with his allergies, he has anaphylaxis, not just an intolerance, so when staff are not helpful (which is rare these days) I do feel like I want to get up and leave. However, once we were over the original issue, we had a lovely family lunch, we all enjoyed our food with no complaints and all the other staff were really helpful and friendly.
