We are really disappointed with Bicester Bathrooms. At first, it was amazing to work with Alex, the owner of the company. We hired him to retile the entire ground floor of our house. We have a lot of projects that we're looking to do, so we'd also discussed some bathrooms with him. After opting to start with just the groud floor, we enquired as to whether he'd also be able to do our utility room with units we were purchasing from DIY Kitchens, as he advertises he's able to do this. He said he could, so we went ahead. The flooring looks great, and I'll say that the team he had at our house most days were amazing. The issues began when it was clear that they'd made a mistake installing the units in our utility room. They cut the tiles at the top of the wall to allow for the cornice, and installed the upper units before attaching the cornice pieces. They knew from the beginning that we wanted the units to go directly to the ceiling, so the tiles were cut so that that profile of the cornice would go to the ceiling. Alex, himself, tried to fit the cornice, and made several mistakes cutting the pieces which caused us to have to re-purchase cornicing from DIY. He then sent someone else to install the cornice (who he assured me actually knew how to do this), who messed up and fit them the wrong way around. There's now a large gap between the cornice and the ceiling, which is an issue because the ceiling above that unit wasn't finished, and the cornice that way didn't fit the profile cut in the tile. The cornice wasn't even fit on the other side of the room, so it truly looks unfinished. I tried for weeks to contact Alex to get someone to fix this and install the rest of it. The guy he'd sent also used up so many pieces of the new cornice unnecessarily that we had to purchase it again for a second time! We also realized after the second attempt at install that one of the end panels was installed incorrectly at the beginning, which means we won't have the consistent look across the whole of the upper units as we expected and designed originally. Alex barely responded once the issues came up, and then stopped responding all together. I attempted to contact him as well as colleagues in his office many times, with very limited responses, if any at all. He mentioned family issues, which I do appreciate and empathize with, but ultimately he hasn't completed work that he agreed to complete. Further, his customer service is shockingly bad. There are a few other snagging issues that they never finished, including finishing a threshold between the hallway and bathroom in the tile they fitted, and fixing an endpanel that was installed poorly on one of the upper units. We understand that mistakes are made, however we can't excuse this company's poor communication any further. Alex initially seemed very trustworthy and great to work with, but this project has turned into a bit of a nightmare. We'll now need to find and hire someone else to finish the work that they were unable and unwilling to complete. It's really a shame, as we plan to fully renovate 3 bathrooms in the next year or two, and were hoping to hire Alex's team to do them. We're no longer willing to consider that as an option under the circumstances. Services: Tile work installation, Install flooring, Remodeling
