I've changed my rating to maximum as I was contacted by the Chairman for Nidderdale Show, who is going to contact the car park company to cancel the fine that had been imposed. I am extremely grateful for his help. Nice car park although there is only one ticket machine which takes several attempts before it is prepared to take your payment and give you a ticket. This wouldn't be a major problem apart from you are on a 10 minute timer from when you enter the car park. Exceed this 10 minutes to the actual time that you persuade the ticket machine to give you a ticket and you will receive a parking fine of initially 60, rising to 100 if you don't pay within 28 days. Clearly it pays to NOT maintain your ticket machine. HOLD ON TO YOUR TICKET IF YOU USE THIS CAR PARK. We now have an email from the company overseeing this car park and that they have rejected our appeal, regardless of the fact that we proved that we had paid for a full days parking. This company is impossible to contact directly other than to make a payment. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE RISK OF BEING FINED IF YOU USE THIS CAR PARK.

Please avoid this car park. I paid for 2 hours of parking but as it was a busy day and there was a large queue and slow machine it took over the alloted 10minutes to pay, and this week I have received a PCN of 60pound due to 'not adhering to terms and conditions'. I have appealed and they have regected it. There is an app to pay with but when I tried to download it there was not signal. Terrible company! Intimidating and trying to get money from people. I still have my ticket and will be appealing this further. Other reviews have very similar stories, try and park elsewhere I contacted Ninnerdale showground who were very helpful in getting this ticket cancelled

Avoid this car park. I, like many others, joined the orderly queue to pay for parking one busy Sunday morning. It took over 10 minutes to get to the front of the queue and I subsequently received a fine. Insufficient and inefficient machines to deal with demand. Needs a re-think come summer! In the meantime avoid - there are other places to park in the beautiful town of Pateley.

There was no ticket machine installed when we visited so we tried to pay via the app. Battled through several app crashes and error messages, finally thought payment had gone through (card details accepted and showed us a success screen) but then a few days later we received a Penalty Charge Notice through the post (they have numberplate recognition). Turns out their broken app (1.3 stars on app store) only charged our card 0.01 then refunded it (!) rather than taking the full amount. Don't risk using the app. The company that manages the car park are horrible to deal with, zero leeway in spite of evidence from the bank to show there was a good faith attempt to pay. Nidderdale Agricultural Society (who own the site) were very helpful though in arranging for the PCN to be cancelled.
