Running Horse Inn

Never heard of this place before as we were just in the area passing by. It looked nice enough and we were greeted and given a table very promptly. The staff were very happy and helpful to begin with but it declined quite quickly. We ordered our starters and drinks which arrived very quick. Then it would appear we got forgotten about. We were waiting a very long time before our starters were cleared from the table and our mains arrived. Mains - A trio of roasts but the meat was very chewy and dry, not what I was expecting at all. Yorkshire pudding? Or a baked crisp with no flavour. We finished our mains and once again were left to wait a long while for a team member to acknowledge that we had finished. Finally we were offered a dessert menu but no body came back to accept our order. No one seemed to be being busy so not sure what the hold up was. We left on our own accord without fulfilling any last order, feeling very let down by what we expected to be a nice experience. I think the staff were glad to be rid of us as no one seemed to wish us goodbye, just being glared at by them.

Worst Sunday roast. Frozen veg. Frozen potatoes (no goose fat/rosemary/garlic as menu describes). Hard yorkies. No complaint at time as you can't cook something you don't have... Do not recommend.

Nice place... but came out hungry the portions are great and for the price you would expect to feel full
