Our dad was at the home from December 2017 . Origonally just there for respite after some time in hospital . In January he chose to stay and said it was the nearest he was going to get to the 5 star cruise he always wanted. For us his daughters it was peace of mind to know dad was being looked after 24 hours , given his meals, medication and had the company he loved so much . Everyone at the home loved dad and it showed with the care and attention he received . Dad loved the events held at the home , the music afternoons and the trips to the pictures. It is fair and honest to say that we did have our niggles at times over mixed up clothes , communication and other minor things which at the time seem huge but when you realise how busy and how hard the carers work you can understand why. As dad became more poorly in May more people became involved in his care and dad passed away at the home 5 weeks ago . This was his wish and was made possible by the support and the co-ordination of care he received at the Claremont. .

My husband stayed in Claremont House last year for a period of respite. Despite the lovely surroundings, the standard of care was appalling. I complained to the CQC and East Riding Council conducted a Safeguarding report. Five out of eight criticisms were upheld. I expected a letter of apology about their treatment of my husband, but I have had no communication whatsoever. I spoke to other relatives who were unhappy with the standard of care there. I would not recommend this home to anyone.
