Service on entry and through out our visit was professional and enjoyable. The fantastic fish and chips completed our visit,highly recommended.

First time coming here; overal we were underwhelmed. Very poor service and average food. The first, and primary, concern was the staff. Really quite rude and very "couldn't be bothered" attitude from most of them. First issue was our drinks. Ordered 5 large pepsi large pepsi Max (we ordered 3 with a waitress and 2 on the app owing to 2 of us arriving late). All came together which was good, however they were all seemingly the same size. Waitress said 3 regular and 2 large. We said we ordered all large but she simply ignored us and said no you've got regulars, simply putting them down in front of us and not even consulting with the waitress that took our order. Not great attitude or customer service. Later, 2 of us ordered another 2 large pepsi Max. These looked considerably bigger than our first ones, andafter pouring them into the original llglass we had (which was purportedly a large pepsi Max), we discovered there was still a good quarter of the new pint glass left. We feel we were ripped off a little with the first one. Food was average. Had a burger, the meat itself was okay but the fries were terrible. Rock hard and tasted only of oil. Wish I hadn't doubled up the fries. I can categorically say they are the worst fries I've ever eaten. I do believ you can normally upgrade your fries for proper chips, but on this occasion they were out of proper chips. Then, there was another issue with one our our burgers. Asked for it with no sauce, but it came with sauce all over the burger and bun. Told the waiter very politely, and he pulled a horrible face and simply took the plate away with no apology or care. All in all, whilst the burgers themselves that we had were pleasent enough, the fries were dreadful and the poor customer service (combined with very long wait times despite being mostly empty), was enough to put us off coming back. Would recommend other local pubs in Beverley ahead of this one without doubt.
