Over 20 tap lines, so much choice! Friendly and knowledgeable folk behind the bar, nice place to grab a beer or 5.

Great ales & wide selection plus a vast selection of bottled beers & cans available from self-service fridges. Some of the draught ales are very, very strong, sold in pt, which is just as well as a full pint would have you struggling to maintain your balance! The place has a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere and they play some good music too, but not so intrusive that you can't have a conversation. Last time I was delighted to hear some Fat Freddy's Drop, one of my favourite bands. It all adds to the conducive atmosphere. You often end up sharing a table, as it's frequently busy and they're at a premium, but that can add to the fun too; you could well find yourself starting a genuine new friendship. Considering how crowded it gets, especially inside, it's just as well it's got such a laid back, easy going vibe, which is just as much down to the clientele as anything else. There is a generous seating area outside, but it isn't really sheltered, apart from an awning that isn't always out. I've been informed that it's an automated system and it doesn't like windy conditions. Consequently these don't see so much use during the colder/wetter days apart from the occasional smoker. On wet days even they tend to favour the shelter of the arches by the entrance rather than brave the rain. PS I've noticed that some reviewers found the staff unhelpful when it came to suggesting suitable nets. This hasn't been my experience at all and, furthermore, you can also ask to taste the beers. Obviously you can't expect to taste all 19, nor does it apply to the bottles/cans, but with the menu as a guide, two or three should be enough to find one to your liking and no one's ever quibbled about asking to taste that many.
