Nice walk around the defence walls and through the garrisons. Took the dog, too. Lowry got some inspiration from this place.

Berwick-upon-Tweed was amazing. Theres just so much to do here. It is our 3rd visit but never fails to amaze. We spend a fair part of the day enjoying the views of three of the bridges. In particular the Robert Stephenson, Royal Border Bridge which was started in 1847. The skills involved in building such a viaduct never fails to amaze me. We walked across the two other bridges which was a pleasant walk, not too arduous. We then continued into town and then enjoyed a walk to Lowrys at the Chandlery. Where we enjoyed the most delicious sandwiches followed by cake and coffee. After lunch we walked along the waters edge to the ramparts. They are incredible structures and should be visited at least once in your lifetime. Theres a great view towards Holy Island and the most swans I have ever seen in the water. You can walk the complete walk around the walled town and I highly recommend you do it. I would happily visit again. Perhaps by train?
