I'd love to give Whitesand Shiel a one star rating to help guarantee we could book it whenever we wanted, but I can't. It's a 5 star - and then some. The position is perfect - right on the Tweed, about a mile's walk into Berwick along the riverside path. The cottage itself is very well done, with everything you need. I see someone complained about the hedge obstructing the view. Eh? If it wasn't there, there'd be a lack of privacy as the riverside path passes right next to the house. (Great chatting to the regular walkers.) The floor to ceiling windows in the upstairs sitting area give an unrivalled view of the Royal Border Bridge and the river. If you want an unobstructed from outside - just walk out the gate and sit on the bench!

Amazing converted salmon fisherman's Shiel on the banks of the Tweed. Beautifully renovated and a perfect outlook. The glass roof at one end means you can watch the river, the Royal Border Bridge, wildlife, including seals or a myriad of stars on a cloudless night. Just a 10 - 15 minute walk along the river from Berwick Town Centre, but feels s million miles away. Loved it.
