        I made a special trip into Berwick-upon-Tweed to go to Barclays bank only to find it is shut all day Thursday. Frustrated!

        Visited today. Was served by a polite and professional lady. My husband and I asked her a few questions and she answered most of them but asked her colleague for advice on the question she could not answer. She could have just said I don't know but she made the effort to find out for us. It's a shame the counters close at 2.30pm but this is not the staff's fault. So many of Barclays banks have closed down because Barclays they say that people are not using them anymore but people are not using them because the hours of opening are not convenient.

        Absolutely appalling attitude and customer service. This is the 4th time I've called to try to change old paper money into the new plastic money, as the old papers will not be legal tender soon. Twice I called on Thursday and the bank was closed (2nd time I forgot about the stupid Thursday closing). And twice checkouts were closed at half past 2. WHAT KIND OF MICKEY MOUSE BANK IS THIS??? When I complained, the assistant took no notice, turned her back and walked away. (2.40pm Tue 17th May) ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR AND WAY TO TREAT A LONG TERM LOYAL CUSTOMER WHO'S DISABLED AND ON A MOBILITY SCOOTER. After this appalling issue, I will draw all my money out and close the account, the RBS just down the road is superior in every way, politeness, hours of buisness, customer service ect. It seems that Barclays bank, Berwick upon Tweed is only for itself and not the customers.
