We stayed for a week as there were issues where we were going to be staying and we were upgraded to one of the cottages. We came at the end of the season. The place was easy to find and Colin, the manager, was super helpful. The place was clean enough and provided everything we needed for a self catering holiday. I would like to go back during the summer months to see what the place was like and try out the indoor pool. I don't have any complaints, or at least nothing that couldn't be fixed easily before the next visit.

Had the pleasure to go with another family - we have been friends from University and wanted to discover what North Devon has to offer. One arrival, compared to what I feared from the twisty setting of North Devon, this offers a really well designed car park. We had heard from other sites that they would be a real challenge to go on a long narrow drive. This was very easy. There is a beautiful old mill house, a modern pool which has a sauna and a laundry room. There was a warm clean cottage on arrival. We had to move to a better one as the planned one was a little smaller for our group. We found the owner supportive and helped us plan a few activities. We had a pleasant area to walk around (not sure on other comments to say there isnt a walk way when there was plenty). I found overall the feel for the place and the sizes were really good and one reason why we chose this one, the cottages were feeling like houses not small rooms. I would love to visit this place again in the Summer.

Location was ideal to all surroundings of interest to us. Unfortunately, no welcome greeting on any day at any time, although our cottage had a Christmas wreath on the door and Christmas tree in the sitting room, which, I thought, was a lovely touch. Responded to my WhatsApp message query instantly. The pool area was warm for January, although the water was a bit cold. Children had been playing and swimming in the pool so they could have been in and out of the door, letting heat out throughout that day. My partner and I had a sauna one evening. The floor area could have done with a clean and the glass door. The cottage was clean on arrival and has all you need for self-catering accommodation. Your first 'help' with 'get me by' supplies are available. Such as hand wash, toilet roll, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee, and sugar. There is an oven glove. You'll need to supply, a washing up cloth and tea towel. Washing facilities are available for laundry with a charge. I'd suggest that you bring plug extensions if you have more than phones to charge. A small basket of fire wood is supplied for arrival, and matches, however you will require top up supplies if staying during the colder months, around 2/3 bags of wood if a short stay. There is also central heating and hot water. The shower water pressure isn't strong at all times. I didn't complain but feel extra care could be taken regarding maintenance of the facilities. Our bath tap was broken, a spare was supplied, but it didn't fit perfectly. Generally a little more attention to these minor issues would score higher room ratings. Bring a torch if you are walking around the cottage grounds during the dark. Our dog, Pablo, absolutely loved the cottage stay and there is an area to dog walk before heading out for the day.
