St. Mary's Church

So lucky to have the beautiful St Marys Church on my doorstep. Its the heart of the gorgeous Berry Pomeroy village, surrounded by quaint cottages and beautiful fields with gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside. The graveyard has some exceptionally old gravestones which make fascinating reading. It is equally impressive inside with lots of local history and weekly bell ringing which you can observe. Theres plenty of parking along the roadside if you want to take the short (very beautiful) drive from Totnes.

A beautiful Church surrounded by a very old grave yard. This church looks to be well maintained as it is in a good state of repair. Noticed a very old gravestone which was in the shape of a pyramid: most unusual. Inside is an exhibition of old photographs, information regarding the US military that were camped in the area during WW2, and information relating to the movie, "Sense and Sensibility," with photos, shot here in the 1990's. A fascinating and peaceful place to sit quietly and just "be".
