I drove my car there for its MOT. Fantastic service, friendly team. I then had a engine management light come on my dashboard before its MOT. I took it to the garage who explained what it was after a diagnostic test. Would highly recommend this garage. I will not take my mini anywhere else. These are the guys to take your vehicle to who are honest, reliable and very professional. Its rare these days to find honest garages!

I heard a weird noise coming from the front wheels of my car when I turned them. This garage was recommended by someone I trusted and has good reviews, so I took it in for a diagnosis. I was told the problem was the ball joints and that they needed replacing. They gave me a quote, which I compared with the main dealer and unsurprisingly Allen & Couser were far more reasonable, so, for the first time, I decided to go with a garage other than my main dealer. Over the course of the day I was getting messages to say the starter battery was critical, so I called at 3pm, as I hadn't had an update, to check what this meant and ask how the work was going. I was told that there wasn't a problem with the ball joints after all, so no work had been done?!? They then told me that there was a problem with the bushes and that's what the noise must be, however, they didn't have those parts. No further resolution was forthcoming. So, after two trips to this garage, I have no idea what's really wrong with the car, why it was kept all day, or if something dodgy was going on, but I guess that's the reason women (and men who aren't knowledgable about these things) feel vulnerable in these kinds of situations. I'll be taking it to the main dealer to get checked out as this experience has left me confused, concerned about safety and worried about what went on when the car was there all day. At best, this was a massive waste of everyone's time.
