Absolutely pristine fresh and clean home and residents are very well cared for. Staff are happy and willing to do anything to help. Excellent Health and Safety procedures in place and covid PPE followed to the letter including testing visitors before being allowed to see relatives. (So expect a 30 minute wait for your test result before being allowed into residents area - worth it for their safety of course). Could not fault this care home.

West View is a wonderful, caring and loving home. I am an ex. Guys Nurse (I consider myself to have extremely high standards when it comes to anything care related). I visit my mother most days (I am a Bere Ferrer resident). The atmosphere throughout the home is friendly, gentle, calm and caring which is priceless. Our family has had a terrible year, we lost our father last year since when my mothers dementia has nosedived and we had to make the heart wrenching decision to move her from her lovely bungalow. We searched homes in Cheshire, tried one which didnt live up to its promises but nothing compared with West View. We made the huge decision to move Mum 300 miles from the North of England where she has lived all her life to West View Care Home in Bere Alston, Devon. We cannot thank ALL the staff for all the genuine love and care you given to her without which my sister and I would have had no peace of mind. West View has enabled us to become daughters rather than carers, I sleep at night KNOWING that my mother is safe and in the very best place possible. There are so many lovely activities, even a bus with wonderful Dartmoor Drives out with ice creams. The Owners and Managers are just wonderful together with all the staff. I am encouraged to visit and often engage in games with other residents, everyone Ive met is happy and very much at home. This might sound very gushing but my mothers wellbeing is our top priority. Dementia is an awful illness but West View is giving Mum the very best quality of life possible for the remaining years of her life thank you. *My husband spent the final 20 years of his professional life working with a care home charity and says that the standards of cleanliness, food and care are as high as any that he has seen before and is also extremely good value for money. ** My God-daughter is Head of Nursing for a London Teaching Hospital, she visited the home prior to my mother becoming a service user and was VERY happy to give it the thumbs up. *** We struck gold when we found West View
