Richard Barnes Cars

My partner purchased a BMW 3 series estate back at the end of September 2022. The first 4 weeks of having the vehicle was okay, but then the problems started. The car spent 3 weeks in a garage undergoing multiple repairs to the tune of 1600. The car came with a 3 month warranty that obviously didnt cover any of the issues wrong with the car. After chasing Mr Barnes for weeks to get response he finally answered and said he would be happy to help with this matter. We both expressed after spending 5k on purchasing the vehicle 2k deep in repair and recovery bills that we had enough. Going into January 23 still waiting for a response from Mr Barnes we find ourself in exactly the same situation with the car. Broken down with exactly the same problems as the first time. We travelled 90miles+ to a reputable garage to purchase a family car for us and our 3 children to be ignored by the owner. We are still trying to contact Mr Barnes with yet more problems and more issues that are also probably not covered by the pointless warranty he provides with cars he sells. 7k out of pocket for a car to be again parked up outside with an endless cheque book of repairs. I would not recommend Richard Barnes cars to anyone! Seems so very helpful and very welcoming until the purchase is complete and then blocks your number and pretends you dont exist. Not professional and very disappointing given how good the service is supposed to be.

Richard is a man of his word We bought a car which was great for us but had a hidden problem Richard tried to have it fixed but in the end took the car back and refunded us.

Recently bought a BMW X5 from Richard and had great service from beginning to end. I love the car and Richard even met me at the garage at 10pm so that I could collect the car and drive it back to Newcastle. Thank you!

The right car, at the right time, at the right price! I've just taken delivery of an Audi A1 from Richard, who took a no pressure approach to the sale. Met me at the site to view the car even though it was out of usual business hours and kept in touch throughout the whole process. An absolute pleasure to buy from! Would highly recommend buying from this company.

Car Sale - Just bought a fabulous and very keenly priced Jaguar XJ from this garage. I was given the keys and all the time I wanted, left to my own devices for an hour or so to check every last detail on my long checklist, and then a test drive. A couple of minor issues came up, and were either resolved pre-collection or reflected in a fair price reduction for me to deal with at my own garage. Supplied with a full MOT, and cleaned - if you want - I prefer to reserve that pleasure for myself! I found Richard and Troy very easy to get on with, establishing a sound businesslike rapport, with some general chat to make for a positive buying experience. They also referred me to an Insurance Broker, who found me much a improved cover and quote.
