Pre-ordered a week's worth of meat for a large self-catered family holiday (17 people). The produce was excellent - not a single complaint from the whole family. The butcher was exceptionally helpful, everything was vacuum packed in advance, and the service was friendly and cheerful - many thanks.

I'm sure the produce here is of a very high quality, but my god!!!! ....what a pair of unfriendly, charmless, humourless, grumpy old gits behind the counter. Honestly!! every time I've been in there I've been met with a surly, po-faced, ubrupt, and downright unfriendly experience. On one occasion, a couple of days before Xmas, when there was a queue of people collecting turkeys, the atmosphere was decidedly hostile. So much for Xmas spirit?! I am amazed that mine is the only review highlighting this issue. In these days of supermarkets killing off independent high street traders, you boys need to up your game and make the 'personal friendly touch' a point of differentiation. Otherwise your days are sadly numbered. I'm off to Waitrose. I can get a coffee there too!!
