Having come from a retail-working background, I had always been curious about a career in social care, particularly looking for a role that would give a better work/life balance, but would also fit around my studies, later on at university. I joined Bluebird Care Amber Valley and Derbyshire Dales in March 2021 after fancying a career change and wanting to try something new. I wanted a career that was both challenging, but also very rewarding, and it's safe to say - I have not looked back since! I was a little apprehensive about going into a care assistant role, having had no prior experience in this sector, but the staff and management have not only been extremely supportive and patient - both in training and out in the field, but also very informative and understanding. Any problems, queries, or concerns no matter how big, or small - are handled with care and dignity. The training and on-board support have been of a very high standard. The communication between both staff and management is also excellent. It is very refreshing to know that the team are very much hands on, and care very highly about their employees, and are also very caring and compassionate towards the customers. Within a few weeks, I settled in very quickly and very much felt I became 'part of the family'. Bluebird Care Amber Valley and Derbyshire Dales are a fantastic company to work for, and I would strongly urge anyone looking for a career that will not only challenge you, and allow you to discover yourself, but also provide a very much rewarding and joyful experience in your career. You don't need any prior experience, all training is provided and the management are there to help and support you to grow, every step of the way. Over the last 6 months I have been liaising with Bluebird Care in relation to portraying their company to the local community across the Amber Valley region especially Belper and Matlock in the local Town Guides. I found the staff to be very helpful, conscientious, they really do care about the local community and their customers. Their level of professionalism is second to none and I do feel from the people I have engaged with at the branch in Belper would and do go the extra mile. You can tell a lot about the company from their staff, they are exceptional, caring and thoughtful which shows what a great organisation Bluebird is.

Having worked with Bluebird Care Derbyshire Dales & Amber Valley for the last 4-5 years they are a great company to deal with. They have a lovely team in their Belper office who are professional and polite and I always look forward to catching up with them.

I have been fortunate to have secured Bluebird Care in supporting my mother for the last 4 years. The excellent care package enabled her to continue to live independently in a retirement flat following her diagnosis of dementia. Her needs were very sensitively and thoroughly assessed and regularly reviewed; the care package started quite light touch and gradually increased in time and complexity, changing according to enhanced need. I really appreciated the open dialogue. The level of care has been outstanding; this is is all the more remarkable during the later period. The team has managed admirably during the pandemic; responding flexibly and always reliably. It makes such a difference to know that your loved one is safe and treated with dignity and professional warmth and expertise. The carers have been amazing - genuinely compassionate, calming and reassuring. In summary, Bluebird is highly recommended.
