HESLEYSIDE HUTS

My husband and I just returned from 5 days at Hesleyside Huts staying in 'Raven'. All I can say is 'Wow' what a unique and magical experience!!! I was concerned that it was going to be style over substance but I couldn't have been more wrong - the quality of the hut (if you can call it a hut when arranged over 4 floors!) was exceptional. The fixtures and fittings were outstanding, beautiful and every single need was catered for - and more! I need a hot water bottle - oh here is one! Damn we forgot our playing cards... oh here are some! Wouldn't it be nice to have a telescope - oh look we have one :-) And so it goes on! From the cake and marshmallows left for us on arrival, to the robe and slippers in the bathroom, the LP's, record player, whisky cabinet, pasta/rice/olive oil, tea/coffee/sugar, log burner etc etc.... everything was thought of and of exceptional quality. Not to mention the views - we were blown away by the view from the 1st floor lounge out onto the forest, the huge window was better than any piece of art that could have been in its place. On our last night we had a camp fire under the stars and made s'morrs... it was truly magical. Thank you William and co for a wonderful stay, we will be back 100%. Katie & Jason xx

Stayed in Bracken in January.magical!!! The cabin was super cosy despite it being freezing outside. We loved our stay, the bed was comfy and warmthe outdoor bath took a lot of warning but we did it!!! Loved the toilet rolls (and now order them ourselves ) and luxury extras. Some great places to visitthe Roman ruins, the Observatory (book well in advance!!!) Im sure if its lovely in January then its lovely in every season. Our only recommendation would be to use smaller cuts of wood (more kindling) for the stove.
