        Had a lovely meal here. Quick friendly service with very good portion sizes. Did have to send the steak back as asked for well done. Promptly got what I wanted. A little pricey for the location at 23 for steak and chips and 3 for a pint of lemonade but it was a good size meal and very full after eating.

        Stayed two nights, room was lovely with a big window and spotlessly clean, bar was cosy and welcoming, breakfast was great, all the staff were super friendly and helpful, we felt very welcome and the whole vibe was just really nice and relaxed. Really can't fault the place. Limited dinner menu when we stayed but it's under new ownership and in the process of being renovated so I imagine the choice will grow as the business does, which it will, because it's a great place to stay. Nearby activities: We stayed because it was a short drive to Kielder and not far from the beautiful coast up there.
