My food was nice and service from the waitress was brilliant. It was nearly empty and they sat us right next to the men's toilet, with the door open. Yuk. My mum and husbands food was cold, they took it back, put the chicken in the microwave and brought it back on the same plates (chips and sauces had been left part eaten as they were). The manager man seemed to have a bit of an issue with us raising this issue. This was our third time eating here and I wouldn't return.

So used to go to a chef and brewer to use our clubcard vouchers. Thing is the C&B menu has gone downhill so thought we would try the Anchor more in hope than expectation. Pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Staff are all super professional and friendly. On the two occasions we have visited the food has been excellent and you can't knock the value.

Nice place, food not as good as I remember it used to be, pie crust was hard, mashed potato was obviously done in the microwave, flat and not soft and fluffy, the peas and gravy were ok tho, service was ok and the price was good but I wouldn't mind paying a bit extra if the food was better
