Incompetent, unhelpful, a rip off and difficult to deal with. Went to collect my wife's two new glasses, and my son's replacement for the one he broke (as we paid for their 15 insurance). I was told my son's glasses were not ordered at all, though I ordered it by phone and was told they will be ready to collect in a week, that was two weeks ago. Was also told today that I need to book an appointment for my son so that they can order it only when he is present. I was disappointed as this is going to push it back for more weeks which I think is ridiculous. So I thought I'll give up the insurance claim and just buy a new one online, so when I asked to have the prescription and his pupillary distance measurement on his current glasses (5 months old) I was told no! They justified it that it could have changed. It felt it is a bit exaggerated especially that this measurement is just a couple of months old. The real problem is when I asked for the same request for my wife glasses (that I just collected) I was told they can't give me her pupillary distance measurement as these are her first pair of glasses and she needs to do multiple more glasses so that they can share it. At this point it was clear to me they are making it difficult for us to order glasses from elsewhere and I left there felling ripped off/scammed. I also think under the GDPR regulations they should disclose such information. I left after regretting ever dealing with them and would not recommend them to anyone ever. As for the eye test experience, it was terrible. One of their machines were broken (they said it keeps breaking down), it took him 1.5 hours for the test and it was so unorganised. I recommend avoiding this place.

Ive visited this branch 4 times over the past few months and without exception have had superb treatment. The team, mostly female, are excellent - very knowledgeable, caring and friendly. Very impressed to be honest.

Been trying to ring the boots opticians in Bedford on their direct number for 3 days they do not answer just leave the phone ringing. Obviously do not wish to talk to customers. Not impressed with lack of customer service

The team I saw today were absolutely brilliant. I had a first class experience from the optician and all the ladies who helped me. I'm sorry I didn't get all their names but Cindy and Dora were two of them. I felt very well looked after and can't wait to go back and collect my new glasses. I was a pain in the behind with choosing my frames but they couldn't have been more patient and helpful. The optician was really good at explaining the results of my scan and the change in my prescription and all the staff asked if I had any questions at each stage of my visit. I felt very well cared for and will be going back there for sure the next time I need a sight test.
