Park House Rehabilitation Centre is a great place to be cared for, after having spinal surgery. From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel welcome and I made friends, with other residents. The staff were amazing and they gave me around the clock care, meeting my every need. My room was clean, spacious and the walking aids were of high quality. Thank you for my care, Linda Beeney.

My son was admitted after being discharged from Addenbrookes after a serious RTC. However, Park House was not suitable for my 24 year old son, it's residents are mainly older people and they simply cannot cope with the neurological recovery of a younger person. There was nothing much for him to do and on some days he was simply left in his room all day until he had visitors. Fortunately, we were in a position to visit every day but I really would not rely on their staff availability to ensure that a recovering patient is kept occupied when they are younger and more active. Park House staff got many things wrong which could have been catastrophic for him and the high proportion of agency workers means that there were mistakes and lack of continuity in care. The staff were rude and inconsiderate on occasions to myself and I did not appreciate having to alert them to situations which were unacceptable. The only good staff members were the therapy staff, physiotherapy and speech therapy who helped him considerably. The Manager tried to rectified the matters but this lead to much frustration and concern during the short 5 week stay to the extent that we removed my son early from the place. Whilst I don't think this was suitable for a younger person, they did have longer term residential clients who seemed to be quite happy there. My concerns were reported to the CQC who I hope would address my concerns to ensure that they do not hold themselves out to be suitable for the rehabilitation of younger people.
