Bailey Opticians

I needed new varifocals so I went to Bailey opticions for the first time. Sadly, although I explained very carefully my needs with regards to new varifocals ( I have been wearing such varifocals for more than 30 years) the lenses sourced and supplied by Mr Gill did not meet my needs. Mr Gill advised me to give myself some time to adapt and then come back in a few days. When I returned after a few days of ongoing problems I was informed that Mr Gill was now away on holiday in India for some weeks. I made an appointment for as soon as his return and explained the problems I had ben experiancing. After he re-checked my prescription I was informed by Mr Gill that if | spent another 80 (on top of the 350 already paid) I could try another make of lens which "should" be better (no guarantee at all though ). When I declined and asked for a refund as the glasses did not meet the specification I had ordered (with regard to the "corridor" width) I was told that a refund would not be entertained as the prescription is correct. The prescription was never actually actually part of the problem. Incidently these new glasses are of very poor consruction quality when compared to my previous ones, the lenses are loose in the frames and the lenses also have very sharp edges at the lower glass surface. "SHOULD HAVE GONE TO SPECSAVERS" Never has an advert been so true, an expensive lesson for me to learn.
