As a family we love North Devon and staying at Moorparks has made us love it even more. We stayed in the cottage which is by far the nicest accommodation we have ever stayed in. Clean, comfortable and every detail thought about. Really comfy beds and soft fluffy towels. We ate in the private garden almost every morning and evening over looking the stunning views, chatting with the goats. Erik took us to meet the alpacas up close and feed them which was the most wonderful experience. We are not even home yet and I am trying to work out when we can return.

This was our first time at Moorparks, and we have stayed in a lot of self catering holiday accommodation over the years. This was probably the cleanest, most well equipped, nicely decorated and furnished that we have stayed in (We stayed in The Cottage with our two teenage sons). It has everything we needed, plenty of space, good Wi-Fi and the owners have thought of everything. The location is very peaceful and absolutely stunning, with the cottage having it's own garden with amazing views over the countryside, where we BBQ'd and ate. Erik and Michele are lovely, always available if you need them but discreet enough not to intrude. For us this was the perfect base to head to the coast on sunnier days and head to Dartmoor for walking & cycling on other days. We ate in a number of the local pubs recommended by Erik. All very nice (The Globe in Beaford in particular), and Torrington (15 mins away) has everything you need (Supermarket, bakery, butchers, post office, take aways etc). We were gutted to leave and will certainly be back!

(Translated by Google) If you want to be welcomed in a spacious house, equipped with all the equipment you could wish for (good WiFi!), With a beautiful garden to yourself and cuddly alpacas, sheep and goats behind the fence, for an excellent price-quality ratio , you should spend your holiday at Erik and Michele van Moorparks. Moorparks is conveniently centrally located in Devon between Exmoor, Dartmoor and both coasts. The estuary of the River Torridge was our favourite. Devon seems undiscovered by foreigners and is well worth the 340 miles or so from Harwich. Erik is always up for a chat and we now know the difference between Devon and Cornish scones. It is also nice that we were able to take a souvenir in the form of a piece of alpaca Paul: a 'vegetarian' dress: i.e. only fur, no skin.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at Moorparks recently and would 100% recommend it to anyone wanting to explore Exmoor and the North Devon coast. The local pub is also a gem - it won CAMRA pub of the year for the area last year and rightly so - great food, beer and lovely people. We ate there twice. Erik and Michele were great hosts and made us very welcome - The Barn was clean, cosy and had those extra touches which really made us feel welcome and at home. We especially enjoyed the board games and Wendy house in the "secret" garden. Our top family attractions were: Tarr Steps Lynmouth and Lynton Cliff Railway The Big Sheep (great for younger children) We also walked along parts of the Tarka Trail looking for otters and following the railway tracks. Thank you!

We stayed at Moorparks Holiday Cottages over Easter and it was idyllic, Erik and Michele made our stay just perfect. The cottage was gorgeous and had all the mod cons, on our arrival there were fresh eggs, milk, tea, coffee and yummy scones with clotted cream and jam! Perfect for a cup of tea outside on the decking while watching the goats Rodney, Del and Trigger get up to mischief! Our children aged 10 and 14 loved the farm animals and woke earlier than normal each day to say good morning to them all! We got to feed the Alpacas, Sheep, Lambs and goats. There are also ducks and chickens. As for location it was perfect, just 30 minutes drive and you can be by the coast, or more locally walking along the river Torridge on the Tarka Trail, there is so much to do around the area. The local villages had pubs serving homecooked meals and we can recommend The Bell in Chittlehampton. The welcome book in the Cotrage was full of information on places to visit and eat locally, it also gave an overview of the histeoy behind Moorparks and the animals there. This is such a lovely place to spend time as a family and get to experience North Devon and its beauty. We will definitely be booking again and highly recommend it!
