My wife and I bought a flat in one of Nicholas King Homes' new developments in London. Three years after completion of the development, it became evident that there were problems with the cladding and that there were potential defects in the fire safety aspects of the cavity walls of the building. It transpired that the cladding had not been installed in accordance with the manufacturers' guidelines. A surveyor's report found that the "external wall system did not comply with the contemporaneous Building Regulations" and the non-compliances "amount to a present or imminent danger to the physical health and safety of the occupants of the building". We also discovered that the cladding used was not in accordance with the planning permission granted. My experience of Nicholas King's Homes was that they dragged their feet in accepting responsibility and were obstructive of the leaseholders' attempts to identify and remediate the problems. They only agreed to remediate the problems after we had claimed under the new building policy and, presumably, the insurers required them to remediate. Even then, they failed to provide a schedule of works to the leaseholders and announced that they were going to erect scaffolding without bothering to consult with the leaseholders or neighbours.

We bought a new home from Nicholas King in March 2020 and while it is spacious and well designed the after sales service has been appalling and we feel completely misled by Nicholas King. Front doors that don't shut properly or lock properly and aren't fixed after 4 1/2 months. Staff have even admitted the door and bezel are not designed to go together. Fences not installed correctly, one fence has fallen down twice now and had to have them out to rebuild the posts (only took 6 months to get them out once legal action and trading standards were mentioned.) A small crack in the patio door glass which was only noticed after moving in, refused to fix. Guttering not connected properly on both sides of the house, and our neighbours, and probably 10 others on the estate. Drains blocked with rubble from the building site. A garden which had solid breeze blocks and full house bricks in among the other debris that they wanted to turf straight over. Windows installed poorly. A garden which has such poor drainage it's best described as a swamp After just over 2 years some of the cladding fell off. Yep, just fell off the outside of the house. Weirdly this happened to our neighbours too. Almost like it wasn't fitted properly. Our neighbours have been told it is an act of god so no fixing it! Roof tiles that needed securing. Takes ages to get a reply when you contact them, nothing seems to be taken seriously and the standards just aren't what they advertise at all. The aftersales service was far better with Taylor Wimpey

Love these guys! I bought my beautiful new home, which had a few minor teething problems, as to be expected with a new build. But was all handled so quickly and efficiently by their Customer Relations Team. I'm not allowed to name people on here, but they are outstanding. I had prompt and detailed replies of what was happening at every step. I am so glad I bought a Nicholas King home.

Wow, what a fantastic experience from start to finish. We used Nicholas King Homes Easy Move scheme and its exactly what it says on the tin! The sales team were super helpful and made the whole process really stress free. Our new home is fantastic, well built and a high specification as standard, no expense spared I feel. The customer care team have been great in helping us get settled in and always quick to respond if we have any questions, if you are looking to buy a new home Id highly recommend Nicholas King Homes.
