Neill and his team have done a fair bit of tree work in our garden over the last 10 years including felling, lower branch lifting, crowning and removing fallen trees. Neill is very knowledgeable, efficient and thorough with his paperwork and applications to the council. He has always turned up on time on the day he scheduled the work, despite some fairly wet days! The team are polite, hardworking and use quality safety equipment. The tidy up is thorough with branches etc being chipped on site. I am happy to recommend Neill for any tree work and will continue to use his services myself.

Had a huge laurel tree removed by Neill Gretton's team this week, a really tricky job, awkward access and an enormous amount of clearance to do. All three members of the team were lovely, worked incredibly hard and did a brilliant job. Thanks!

As others have experienced, we ran into difficulties with Neill when there were questions on the day about work on of our trees. Neill had quoted for felling some front branches of a line of trees for us but when on the day he showed me which branches it became apparent he was effectively taking them down, removing all the height which screens us from our neighbours (something they would have been furious about) and leaving a low hedge between us and them. It was my husband who ran through the job with him and he wrote down that there were options so did not realise that we had signed up to actually fell most of the tree (admittedly some responsibility on his part if he misunderstood what Neill meant). However we had a number of other tree jobs under way in the garden, plus some additional which could be done. Neill walked off the job and said he would go elsewhere, a line I now realise he is used to using when things dont work out precisely. His approach is inflexible so just be sure if you do hire him that everything runs exactly as planned to his requirements. We are understanding of the fact he brings certain tools and equipment to a job but to stop jobs midway because something he thought was pre-agreed was not entirely clear on the customers side and cannot be carried out 100% his way, when there is lots of other work to be getting on with, is unprofessional in my opinion. We have since found another great surgeon who is flexible (very much appreciated when you have two very young children and put a lot of effort in on your side into prepping neighbours etc. for work to be carried out on a specific day).
