This area is a in the Heart of the city but peaceful place to walk. Away from hustle and bustle of the city. Not far from the town centre. Accessibility Wheelchair access from town, partially accessible for parts of route. Parents and babies/ toddlers suitable. Cautious of water and deep edges of locks and canals. A stroll along the canal is good to clear the stresses of life and the clutter of thoughts. Great for Dog walking. There are steep stairs in some places. Some of the stretches are alittle muddy, weather dependent. Cycling yes, be prepared to pick bikes up to climb stairs. Seating, at various areas along stretch to rest. Canal boat life along this stretch is alive and vibrant. Beautiful buildings/ interesting locks and bridges. The path stretches all the way to Reading. Parks and open land, villages and pubs.
