Vellore Restaurant

We stayed at the hotel and had a 3-course dinner with a bottle of wine at the restaurant. We've never dined in such a grand hall, so it was something different to experience. There were only a few other people in there, so it was very quiet more like in a museum. The service was top as well as the food including the presentation.

Service was fine but had to send back overcooked seafood and pasta which was very poor. Replaced by steak and a vegetarian meal which were pleasant enough. Disappointed. The waitress is to be commended for how helpful she was. Vegetarian options: Limited.

This restaurant is hugely underwhelming for the price. The dining hall is drab and boring.. it feels like a wake for a funeral. The food quality and cooking is so poor it's unbelievable. They charged 30 for a badly cook steak which was of poor quality meat. A small (cup size) chips was 7 and they were average at best. At breakfast, the Eggs Benedict was pretty much anaemic. The eggs were over cooked and looked like they were shop bought rather than sourced from any local farm etc - you can tell farm bought eggs because they look almost orange in the yoke. These were a pale yellow indicating the chickens didn't go out much / kept in barns. I am sure there are many good restaurants to try in Bath that you could find through Google maps. Definitely give this one a miss.

Food is ok (not what youd expect from the restaurant of a 5 stars hotel, but ok) Service is disappointing. We had 2 breakfast and 2 dinners there. Every time there were problems with our orders (wrong, missing ingredients, late, etc). The breakfast buffet runs out soon. Personnel is friendly but clearly not operating at the level needed for a 5 stars hotel restaurant.
