I engaged BPD to start a job in Oct that was due to finish mid-Nov. Instead what I experienced was 5 months of work that fell short. I was happy to pay a premium for a company who were going to do the work to a high standard as well as project manage all the trades. The idea being that this would take the stress away from me. As well as the project slipping by 2 months I had to take on the stress and project management due to a lack of basic skill. The house was left like a building site each evening. Their website says they pride theirselves on cleaning up after themselves but this wasnt the case in my house. I tasked BPD with removing the existing stair carpet, sanding back the stairs and bannisters, repainting them then laying a runner. BPD removed the existing carpet then laid the runner BEFORE sanding or painting the wood. When questioned I was told they would be extra careful not to get paint on the new carpet. Im no expert however even with my knowledge I know that you dont lay a runners before painting the wood. It took many messages and discussions before they agreed to remove it. They attempted to make good of the walls following removal of the cupboards. Neil did the job which resulted in the walls looking like dry land after a period of drought - cracked all over. I couldnt bring myself to look at it and told BPD who after realising fixing it wasnt going to cut it agreed that the work needed to be removed and they needed to hire a plasterer. Neil had no building qualifications and has been removed from this type of work as he is the sales guy. Why he was trusted to test out his DIY skills when I was paying is beyond me! I complained about the new carpet being fitted in the bedrooms and hallway then left uncovered while they painted the walls. This resulted in marks on the carpet, many of which came out after cleaning (however why was I cleaning a carpet that should have been fitted after the painting was complete) and one that had to be removed and replaced. BPD use a lot of contractors, many of who made comments about the company and each other. Some commented they were not motivated to be in my house given their travel time and that if they were paying for the work I was having done theyd refuse to pay. I heard stories of workers who were alcoholics, not to be trusted, lazy... Each radiator I had fitted leaked and had to be repaired. Fitted by a subcontractor as BPD arent plumbers. In the end we came to an agreement (suggested by me) for me to pay less than the quote. BPD were quick to accept. Hardly surprising when I was left with cracked panelling, incomplete tiling, discoloured grout, carpet needing to be replaced, paint work to be re-done, a door removed but not put back on and a WC suite removed and not replaced. Im embarrassed to admit how much I paid. The stress caused far out ways the end result. If you are considering BPD for your home Id strongly caution you. Dont be fooled by their reviews and Insta updates. Its not all as it seems behind the scenes. Service: Interior painting

Bath Painters and Decorators came recommended by a colleague at work. I contacted them in January to discuss renovating my property in Weston, Bath. They helped me transform the ground floor space of the property as I was looking to improve the layout and finish. They project managed the joinery and plastering aspects of this efficiently and completed the project on time. They also accommodated for any changes in scope- such as the fitting of new carpets in the living room and hallway- supplying high quality tradespeople, quickly and efficiently. The house was always left clean and tidy and the quality of the work is exceptional. I won't be looking anywhere else for future decorating or fit-out work! The BPD team come highly recommended for good reason- responsive, professional and reliable!
