AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This hotel has the worst service I have encountered in a long time. I honestly can't remember the last time I was treated this poorly. As someone who used to work in hospitality I can't believe this place is still able to run as a business. We had requested a late check in and unfortunately arrived a little later than planned, just before dinner. The woman behind the desk had a really poor attitude and made us feel bad for being later. We asked for a little time to get ready and were told the "best they could do" was to give us an extra 15 minutes. It was my friend's birthday and she just wanted to look nice for dinner. We arrived downstairs just before 8pm to be greeted by an empty restaurant. I tried to raise this issue with our server. My complaint was brushed off with "oh were going to be busy later" were then rushed through dinner by someone I later found out to be the GM!!! There was 1 other couple there the whole time we were eating, the place was a ghost town and they rushed paying customers for nothing. Appalling behaviour service wise however I'll concede the quality of the food was good but overshadowed by the poor service. The room which was upgraded to a 4 poster was dated and very much in need of renovation. It was unbearably hot due to a towel rail we couldn't turn off and it was on a main road near some overnight building works that kept us up all night. Genuinely one of the worst hotel stays I have ever experienced. They did discount the room when I complained however the staff continued to respond poorly to genuine feedback. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere!
