I popped in on Saturday 7th September to make an appointment and asked on the off chance if there was anything available "today " Sam said she could do it now if I like... so glad I did. My hair is difficult to cut and dry and Sam managed both beautifully, will definitely be going back. Sam is very friendly and professional. Only small thing you need to pay cash, by card would be more convenient but that said a cash machine is nearby.

As a hairdresser myself, I can safely say Beverley, the salon owner of Headstart Hairdressing has no idea what she's doing. I walked into her salon with long hair down past my breast and asked Beverly to cut a few inches off and trim the dead hair around my face - an incredibly simple haircut I would have trusted an apprentice to complete. She sectioned the hair into four parts and cut approx 3 inches off the the back - straight across as I asked. Then proceeded to cut the front two sections an additional 3 inches shorter then the rest of my hair. Definitely not my definition of 'trimming the dead hair' The front is completely disconnected to the back - any hair forward of my ears does not even fit into a pony tail anymore. The only way to level out such a horrible disconnection would be to cut all my hair off to above shoulder length - something I'm unwilling to do considering just yesterday it was past Breast length!! She cut my hair on a middle part when I asked her not to. It's completely uneven on both sides and has choppy scissor marks easily visible. She then proceeded to tell me it was my fault because I part my hair on the side. Even if I used a middle part the haircut is still uneven!! Any qualified hairdresser would know for this haircut - you should cut a clients hair the way it falls naturally, you don't change the parting to suit your basic cutting needs. As a hairdresser myself (I am currently job hunting) I am embarrassed that this is how I have to present my own hair when applying to prospective job opportunities. However, Beverly as a salon owner should be even more so embarrassed that she let a client walk out of her salon with a haircut as bad as mine!!
