Caf Rouge - Bath

I was looking for a quiet place to have brunch alone on a Saturday morning and came across caf rouge. The interior was ok- it must have been nice a few years ago though it is looking a bit shabby now. Some lovely windows and features and actually the ladies loos were nicely decorated. Sadly I didn't enjoy my eggs Florentine. The hollandaise sauce tasted synthetic and the spinach wasn't fresh - which you couldn't tell before eating as it was covered up with lots of sauce and the eggs. The muffin and eggs were ok. The service was good - cheerful and attentive - just a bit let down with the food. I hope the restaurant gets some investment as it is a beautiful building and has lots of potential.

Vegetarian options: Could do with another option- most vegetarians get sick of veggie burgers or spicy curries.. something like a veggie risotto or pasta Dietary restrictions: Good marking of Gluten free stuff
