I had to put a claim from them . They will do anything not to pay out . They have had poor service from beginning to the end. I didn't ever get a response when I tried calling to find an update. No compassion

Made a claim and i am still waiting for the refund. It has passed 17 days since the claim was open. They don't respond to queries, they are useless. I'm going to cancel the policy next year. Extremely bad service.

DO NOT TRY TO CLAIM FOR TREATMENT YOU HAD ABROAD (with bills not written in English). My premium was only 130 lower than the total amount of the claim and I wish I had never taken this insurance policy as the hassle they put me through was not worth the time and nerves. The actual policy covers tiny percentage of what a dental treatment in the uk costs so when you require just standard treatment, you will not save on this policy as youd be better off using the money spent on the premium to pay your dental bill instead. The claim process was difficult, unpleasant and time taking - it took over 3 weeks to review and I needed to go back and forth answering questions only to then be asked more question which could have been asked at the beginning of the claim. Moreover, my receipt was hand written and the amount paid was written 4 times - in one place, it looked like 2500 whereas you could clearly see that it read 2900 in the other places - which corresponded to the itemised treatment plan with individual cost listed - I need to provide additional proof to reconfirm the bill of 2900. I cant help the impression that Unum will use every opportunity for your overall eligible claim to be as low as possible - I had few fillings done in one go and needed to reconfirm that this was not for cosmetic - only purposes. Summary : Dont waste your money, time and nerves like I did.
