It used to be one of my fave places to go but the past couple of times Ive been in there Ive had some problems. The recent refurb is nice, but they have lost the seats that used to be stools looking out the window for a fridge. As its conveniently near the train station, they havent been opening as early as they used to- nor sure if its change of management but I used to get a drink before getting the train. Now its unclear when they will open- whether its staff issues or problems with the tills. The latest problem I had was that I wanted to use one of my free drinks. I scanned my loyalty app and was told bluntly that it wasnt coming up. I asked to try again and it didnt work so I had to pay. The staff member wasnt apologetic about not being able to use something Ive earned due to their till problems, as the tone of voice came across like Im causing an inconvenience by wanted to redeem a free drink.

I don't recommend this place. Costa service arrogant. I did not get a receipt. therefore I did not have the access code for the toilet. Because it's on the receipt. after asking the staff. They said the toilet is for customers. Holding a cup of coffee. Who am I ??? Because surely not a customer I wanted to drink coffee in a cafe. I got, of course, in a paper cup to take out.
