this salon is gorgeous! i was recommended by a friend and was not disappointed, the interior is stunning and the service is great, also competitive prices, with organic products, there isnt another salon in basingstoke as nice or as good a value as this one

If I could give ten stars, Alchemy would get that! I cannot express how wonderful the staff are here.. they are extremely kind, welcoming and friendly, and on top of that they REALLY know their stuff. From the get go you can tell they're very passionate about what they do, and that they've paid attention to every detail - from skin friendly (vegan) products to the lighting and atmosphere. I only went in for a trim/slight reshaping and spent two hours with the stylist (Samuel) who talked me through everything. I normally like my hair curly, and he suggested he could style it that way, but wanted to blow dry it straight first to make sure it was perfect rather than hiding any imperfections with the curls. Also - I always react to hair dyes. Every single salon skin test has been unbearable after a few minutes and had to be wiped off. That's over about ten years. This time, nothing! It's ppd free, but sometimes places use a ppd analogue that you can react to but didn't have any reaction here. Update: still the same after visiting for a couple of years and same comments stand! Lovely staff.
