My 17 year old son was suffering terribly with asthma and chest pain and had virtually given up all sport, especially his beloved golf. He was becoming very depressed and withdrawn and was on maximum medication for his age and could barely walk and talk without gasping for breath, on top of chest pain that had been diagnosed as costochronditis. Add to the mix anxiety over the way he was feeling and he was in a pretty miserable place and on a downward spiral. Lung function and cardiology tests were ok, which was great but he still had the problem and even the strong medication wasnt stabilising him. Clutching at straws, I contacted Shane as he was the only osteopath that mentioned asthma and had a personal insight based on his own experiences. Im so pleased I did! Although almost a hour drive from us it was well worth the trip! Firstly he listened thoroughly to what my son had to say and he not only understood but empathised with him drawing on his own experiences. This gave my son a connection and a glimmer of hope and confidence. He gave some exercises to do at home and some focussed breathing techniques. Remarkably quickly my son began to feel some improvement. A couple more visits and techniques and there has been a vast improvement! Son even managed to play a round of golf with his college buddies!! He is practicing the techniques and exercises religiously and feels so much better in himself and this has of course resolved the depression and anxiety too! Last consultation with the respiratory nurse went so well there is a possible removal of a layer of medication in a month or two if he continues to improve. We cant thank Shane enough!

Shane has been very helpful with resolving issues with my neck and shoulder pains over the course of a couple of sessions. I can feel the difference already and looking forward to even more progress with a few more sessions!
