Please do not buy from them.. please visit existing redrow development and just ask the homeowners... too many people are not happy with redrow on sellars way. I bought a year ago from them at ST Nicholas mews. I was rushed to complete end of June as its the end of their financial year. My snagging list still not done we moved in 1 year ago . We wait months for appointments. When we completed and I got my keys. Gas wasnt installed in the kitchen, garden wasnt done they just started laying the turf in the afternoon and they didnt even finish, rubbish plastering, broken windows. Their contractors comes to fix something and breaks something else.. very stressful! The house you buy wont be like the show home.. misleading company. when you call them to complain they can only apologise as its the contractors fault! I BOUGHT MY HOUSE FROM REDROW! The contractors are your problem.. we are sick of listening your excuses!

I could not recommend this company to anyone, based on my experience of them. I bought a flat over a garage/coach house on one of their developments. I was the third owner so I had no contract with them. I had the property "professionally" surveyed, it was approximately 13 years old. The property had initially had an NHBC Build Mark Certificate, but this was no longer valid, the NHBC Certificate stated that the builders were Redrow Homes (Eastern) Ltd. Upon completion of the purchase when taking vacant possession, the floor screed in the first floor storage cupboard, was found to be cracked across its width, and it had subsided. Further investigation revealed that there was a problem along the entire length of this floor edge within the adjacent bedroom. The first floor design was for a concrete block and beam floor with insulation and a floating cement screed. The floor along this edge appeared to have not been built properly because the underlying garage wall had not been built up to be level with the last T beam and the small gap in-filled. Had this been done it would have created a solid floor substrate, solid to the edge of the floor. Instead, the last 8 inches or so of the floor "screed" was supported on builders rubbish inside the storage cupboard, and on a mixture of builders rubbish and cement within the bedroom. The drywall studs/floor plate were supported on a wooden brace, as there was no floor under them. The drywall panels had been extended 3 or 4 inches below floor level, to provide shuttering when the cement was poured in. I visited Redrow Homes' Eastern office to try and get the matter resolved. I took pictures in showing the cracked floor screed and showed their director who suggested that it may have been subsequent works because the screed was a different colour and due to the age of the property. Once a builder I had asked to have a look, had kicked the cupboard floor through with his boot, the rubbish bin was revealed. There are no utilities in this area, who, even the worst DIY builder would dig up the floor, then fill it in again with builders rubbish, which he would have to scour a building site to find. They eventually sent their Senior Project Manager to inspect the disclosed floor in the storage cupboard, he agreed it was a latent defect, I made a record of the meeting. He also suggested it could have been missed by the original owners due to the property being sold with carpets down. The previous owner is more than likely to have known about it. Redrow refused to sort the problem or offer any financial help. I tried to sue them under the Latent Damage Act but whilst I believe the claim was within the extended 15 year limitation period, the judge did not. When the bedroom floor screed was dug up, builders rubbish consisting of metal wall studs, offcuts of coving, electrical cables of the same manufacturer and date as the rest of the property, a bag of unused metal brackets etc etc. The underlying garage wall can be seen in the pictures and it can be seen that it was not built to the correct height. A decent qualified surveyor/structural engineer was eventually commissioned by a third party and he concluded that the floor had been incorrectly constructed/finished and in-filled with unsuitable materials. I would not buy another property built by this company unless I employed a trusted builder/building engineer to inspect it at every stage of the build. Whilst the property I bought was not at risk of falling down because of this defect, the defect has caused considerable inconvenience and not some cost.
