was here for a family wedding weekend of 15/04/23 Accommodation is comfortable and the staff helpful enough. Food of a reasonable standard. Unfortunately the one element that let the place down was the resident DJ who refused to play any requests and had the dancefloor empty most of the night. He flat refused to play a reasonable request from my 9 year old daughter and came across as rude to a few guests. Instead his own personal choice was aweful and there was little or no crowd engagement from memory. As an ex professional DJ myself having played for many years at a variety of venues, events and functions including weddings, I found this unacceptable and frankly unprofessional. Sorry Bashall barn but if this guy is compulsory as part of the package. then I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend anyone take avail of this particular service for this one element alone. Other than that, great location and surroundings. I'd respectfully suggest this issue was addressed

We came this week for a viewing as a potential venue for our wedding(an appt that was booked 6 weeks prior). When we arrived we were met by a man (later found out his name was Simon but he didnt introduce himself) he didnt ask our names or who we were, he didnt acknowledge my partner (groom to be) or either of our mothers. He just said are you here for a viewing, Ill take you around. He very quickly guided us round simply telling us which room was which, how much they had spent on the dance floor and pizza oven. No warmth, no interest in us, no questions for us, no small talk or any kind of interaction really. Any questions we did have he wouldnt or couldnt answer.We asked about twilight package options and dates for the next couple of years to which he said he cant answer and I would have to email Rebecca with any questions. We were there for around 15 mins in total, rushed round with the feeling we were an inconvenience and he had no intention of taking a booking or any money from us. The whole thing was very odd and all 4 of us came out of there feeling very disappointed and shocked as how blunt and cold he was. The impression of its all about money not about couples or what you can offer them just a take it or leave it approach. We traveled an hour and half to see this venue and were in a position to actually book a date and pay the deposit on the day. Luckily we went to view another venue only minutes away and had a completely different experience. They were welcoming, genuine, interested in us, answered all our questions and gave us an in depth tour, and made us feel comfortable and looked after. So much so we have now booked our wedding with them. When you have such strong competition down the road, Bashall you really need to change your approach and at least pretend to give a s***.
