It is like marmite...and we loved it!! Super friendly no frills site. Yes there's a lot you could say could be done to make it smarter but it is what it is. Loved the location. We opted for non electric pitch as these are by the lakes and love the laid back vibe of the place. We went to the clubhouse which again super friendly and drinks were very reasonable. Will definitely go back in the summer as lots of walks and pubs to try.

We booked 2 night here, staying only one. It was very rundown and lots of abandoned units, boats and cars. I imagine once upon a time it would have been lovely. It did feel safe to stay, people there are genuine and pleasant to talk to. It does have toilets and a shower. Just needs a serious update. But it is what it is. It's a heaven for people who like to live cheaply on a site. We did not venture onto the other part of the site as there was no electricity points or toilets etc plus I didn't want to get stuck in the mud.

Stayed on proctors for 8 months whilst in between house moves. Not a bad site bit rough around the edges. More suited for locals to live on than a holiday destination. Average prices. Electric is through a card meter where you buy the cards from reception. Clean shower blocks rather dated though and exceptionally cold due to the amount of bare concrete. Toilets cleaned every day. Barrier entry which you can only lift with a key fob lots of cctv at the entrance. Quick access onto the canal for leisurely walks and a seated area so you can relax and watch the boats go through the lock. 2 pubs within 2 minutes walk both serve food one home made the other chain pub grub. A 10 minute walk into the village where you can find lots of different shops, coop, coffee shop, florist etc but no post office. Also as you leave the village on the other side there is a well run petrol station. Bus service into the Loughborough town which arrives when it wants to. On site club house which has varying opening times that change all the time so best to enquire if open before hand if you are wanting. Down side is the area is prone to severe flooding which brings its own set of problems again best to research barrow Sileby floods.
